After a competition involving more than 100 applicants, the E-Learning Unit, Institute of Adult and Continuing Education of the Makerere University (a partner of the EuroAfrica-ICT.org consortium) has been selected as one of the four winners of the first grant programme “International Academic Webcasting Grant for Developing Countries using openEyA”. EyA is an innovative automated audio/video/slide recording system developed to archive and share scientific lectures and talks carried out using digital presentations PPT, PDF, animations, etc) as well as traditional chalkboards or whiteboards found in classrooms.

The grants will support the automated production of on-line scientific content (via “webinars”) and e-learning and distance education (via web lectures).
