2013 Africa-EU Cooperation Forum on ICT
The ‘2013 Africa-EU Cooperation Forum on ICT’ is taking place on December 2-3, 2013 at the African Union Conference Centre (AUCC) and Office Complex in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The event is organised by the EuroAfrica-ICT/P8 EU/FP7 funded project in the framework of the AUC Internet/ICT Week that will be held on Dec. 2-6 in Addis Ababa. This week is part of a series of events organised to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) / African Union (AU).
The ‘2013 Africa-EU Cooperation Forum on ICT’ is the sixth of a series of very successful conferences organised by the EuroAfrica-ICT Initiative under the aegis of the European Commission (EC, DG CONNECT) and the African Union Commissions (AUC, Information Society Division) and in the framework of the Joint Africa-EU Strategic Partnership (JAES):

These conferences provide an indisputable focal point for all African-EU stakeholders in the public and private sectors involved in collaborative ICT research and ICT for development with a specific emphasis on networking-opportunities, knowledge-sharing and consensus-building.
Organised in the framework of the Africa-EU Strategic Partnership (JAES) and hosted by the African Union and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) of Egypt, this 6th Forum is aimed at strengthening and supporting the development of cooperation on ICT research and ICT4D between Africa and Europe by:
:: Allowing European and African stakeholders involved in the development of cooperation on ICT to get together;
The Forum will feature various session types:
:: Plenary sessions (featuring officials from the European Commission, the African Union Commission, Governments, and internationally acknowledged ICT experts)
With a wide range of themes to be explored, a comprehensive programme will ensure all participants are able to develop international, cross-cutting contacts and enhance their knowledge and expertise. Thematic sessions will focus on the following themes:

Over 200 European and African key stakeholders (from Institutions, National and International Companies, SMEs, Academia, Research institutes, etc.) in the field coming from all over Europe and Africa will attend the event.
