2011 Cooperation Forum
Held under the aegis of the EC, the AUC and the Africa-EU Strategic Partnership, this major event is the 4th of a series of very successful conferences organised by the EuroAfrica-ICT EU-funded project:
- 1st Euro-Africa Cooperation Forum on ICT Research: March 25-26, 2009 – Brussels, Belgium
- 2nd Euro-Africa Cooperation Forum on ICT Research: February 4, 2010 – Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
- 3rd Euro-Africa Cooperation Forum on ICT Research: December 7-8, 2010 – Helsinki, Finland
With a specific emphasis on networking-opportunities, knowledge-sharing and consensus-building, the EuroAfrica-ICT Cooperation Fora have traditionally provided an indisputable focal point for all stakeholders in the public and private sectors involved in collaborative ICT research and in ICT for development.
Hosted by the Government of South Africa through the Department of Science & Technology (DST) and the Meraka Institute of CSIR, this year edition will primarily aim at strengthening and supporting collaborative research on ICT between Africa and Europe but also at exploring how to support efficient and innovative ICT Public-Private Partnerships.

EuroAfrica-ICT Cooperation Forums have also a long-established reputation for being events filled in with in-depth discussions and lively debates, networking opportunities and knowledge sharing among key stakeholders in the field and policymakers coming from all over Europe and Africa.

ASSOCIATED ORGANISATIONS
We are seeking organisations (associations, NGOs, European Technology Platforms, Chambers of Commerce, Academia, Foundations, media, etc..) interested in associating with us in our mission of strengthening the cooperation between Europe and Africa on ICT Research.
Our partnership will constitute a win-win agreement based upon the provision of services for other services (no money will be involved).
SPEAKERS
We invite the Euro-African ICT community to share information on technological developments that will support the strengthening of cooperation between the two regions. Contributions are welcomed from players across the entire ICT sphere and are intended to reflect ongoing technological advances and capabilities within R&D/ICT communities as well as forthcoming commercial deployments. Contributions have to include a consideration of relevant challenges in emerging economies and markets. Authors are invited to submit electronically half-a-page abstracts in English to the conference selection committee. All received abstracts will be carefully evaluated on the following criteria: originality, significance, technical soundness, clarity of expression and interest to a wide audience.

About 300 European and African key stakeholders in the field (coming from Institutions, National and international companies, SMEs, Academia, Research institutes, etc.) are expected to participate in the conference.
