EuroAfrica-P8 objectives

Supporting the implementation of the 8th Strategic Partnership & the JEG8 Activities

- Assist the day-to-day operation of the P8 Implementation/Expert Groups
- Ensure a broader mobilisation of EU-African stakeholder communities in the P8/ICT related meetings
- Raise awareness on P8/ICT objectives, achievements & main activities
- Identify, analyse & map joint ICT research priorities between the two regions
- Provide evidence-based recommendations for future cooperation initiatives
- Actively contribute to the P8 related meetings by providing presentations and background papers (e.g. zoom or case studies, reports, guides, white papers, manifests, declarations, etc.)

Encouraging African participation in EU-funded programmes (ICT theme)

- Raise awareness on FP7-Horizon2020 opportunities and facilitate networking through events (Cooperation Forums / Awareness Workshops / thematic Working Group meetings) both in Europe & Africa
- Enhance and regularly update the EuroAfrica-ICT database of African ICT Research Institutes with the aim of facilitating connections between interested parties
- Provide guidance to African & European stakeholders willing to engage in ICT collaborative research and looking for advice on FP best practices
- Sharing knowledge and useful background information

Connecting researchers and practitioners to strengthen EU-African collaborative projects
 |
- Offer opportunities for dialogue to all stakeholders in the field (Cooperation Forums / Awareness Workshops / thematic Working Group meetings) both in Europe and Africa
- Maintain an online database of African ICT Research Institutes and appoint EuroAfrica-ICT contact points in leading ones
- Produce two iterations of an e-Consultation aiming at achieving strategic coordination with other initiatives or programmes sharing similar or related objectives

Underpinning Euro-African joint ICT research priorities
 |
- Dig into the identification and analysis of joint ICT research priorities between the 2 regions initiated during the EuroAfrica-ICT.org EU project
- Provide recommendations for future cooperation initiatives
- Produce zoom/case studies
- Form 5 consortia working on joint EU-Africa EU/FP7 proposals demonstrating the return on investments in e-infrastructures and their supply chains
