Workshop on Local Software Economies
| August 2, 2010 |
The workshop on the development of Local Software Economies in Africa will be organised on August 2, 2010 in Abuja, Nigeria.
The event will be organised by Microsoft in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC) and it will take place a day before the Third Session of the African Union Ordinary Conference of Ministers in charge of Communications and Information Technologies.
The one-day workshop will utilise Local Software Economy Kick Start Programme, aimed at providing emerging economies with a robust and measurable framework from which to develop and grow a software industry inside their national economy.
The workshop will clearly demonstrate that the development of a vibrant and growing software industry has a significant impact in the economic and social development of a national economy and provides a strong basis for global competitiveness.
